Ryan Garry joins Bournemouth

Bournemouth today completed the signing of Ryan Garry on a free transfer following his release from the club. Back in May 2003, against Southampton with the Premiership trophy out of reach and the FA Cup Final against the same opponents just around the corner, Arsene Wenger used the final Highbury match of the season to field some youngsters. In a match which was remembered for hat-tricks by Jermaine Pennant and Robert Pires (who would later score the winner in the final), Justin Hoyte and Ryan Garry made their debuts. Ryan gave an assured performance of himself with several no-nonsense challenges and looked a real one for the future. But while the other debutant that night, Hoyte, has gone on to bigger and better things with the club, it's a shame to see Ryan Garry sink this low, as he is far above Bournemouth's level. Since that Highbury night, Ryan has had his career dogged by injuries and a once promising teenager has turned into a has-been, hopefully he can get his career back on track at Bournemouth.
